The palate is concentrate sweet fruit. Very soft and long, balanced
with good tannin.
WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS:
A very limited release of Padthaway Malbec and is one of the best
examples of this variety. This wine celebrates the life of Edward
Geoffrey Brown, father of Donald Brown. Geoff was a grandson of one
of South Australia's Foundation settlers. His forebears from
Brigstock England, settled at Woodside in 1852. Geoff's own
enterprises culminated in his founding of the successful "Manesty"
agricultural business. Browns of Padthaway take great pleasure in
naming this richly flavoured Padthaway Malbec in honour of Edward
Geoffrey Brown, continuing his pursuit of excellence in all fields.
CELLARING:
The 2003 Edward is drinking superbly at present. However cellaring
potential of 5-8 years.
